(b) European Masters in the Education Department

(c) Assistants in the Government Analyst's

We therefore beg to submit to Your Lordship that

these figures confirm, in a marked degree, the

commencing salary of £675 previously proposed by

us which would enable a married officer on join-

ing the service to live in a reasonable manner.

In England, corresponding salaries

for these officers on appointment would be:- (a) £200 - £260 per annum, age 24 - 28.

(b) £240 - £300

(c) ₤240

A Board of Trade Surveyor's commencing salary at Home in 1929 is £414, which shows that for members

of these three professions and our own, of similar

age, the salary on attaining a like age at which

a Board of Trade Surveyor is engaged is practically

uniform and substantiates still further our claim

that the figure of 675 is the minimum on which a

surveyor in this office should be asked to commence.
